World Youth Day

Rooted and built up in Jesus Christ, Firm in the Faith

This is one event that I have long been dreaming to attend. I consider World Youth Day as one of the most important event in the world. This year the WYD was celebrated at Madrid, Spain. I have an officemate who's been able to join the event and part of their package is that they'll be touring 7 European cities. How I wish I'd be privileged to experience it too. And I really wish that it be held again here in our country, for sure I could join. The very last time it was held here back in 1995 I was just at grade school then in the province. Maybe I should start writing a petition to Vatican haha. Come 2013 the WYD will be held at Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.

Donna Cruz

I am very happy to see Donna Cruz again on the boob-tube. Isa akong big fan ni Donna. Bihira ako magkaron ng peyborit, at isa siya sa mga "ultimate favorite" ko. I hope to see her more often on TV.

Tanda ko pa nung elementary ako, kasagsagan ng Villa Quintana kung saan lagi yon ang topic sa school even our teachers would discuss it on class. Para sa akin siya ang original na Primetime Queen ng local showbiz.

Potipot Island, Zambales: A Stormy Weekend Getaway

Island Adventure

It was a wet wet wet Island Getaway. Just last Saturday, right after our work shift, we went at the Island for our Team Building. I was really excited for this, it's been a long time that i have been planning to go here.

I love nature. I love being close to them. First Hand Experience. I appreciate how beautiful Potipot Island was. Even though it was raining, the beauty of the Island is still obvious. We were very lucky that we're the only camper that time. Some other tourist went back to the town right after their swim. I can still remember my camping days back in Elementary and High School days. We set up our tent, cooked our meal, we were like very independent. Everyone has a helping hand. I love the fact that we're away of the city and from the work pressure. It was nice to be dancing in the rain, make me reminisce my childhood.

How To Get There:

You can ride a 7-8 hour bus trip at Victory Liner at Caloocan City. Transpo Fare: P432. It will be best if you'll get a bus bound to Sta. Cruz, Zambales. You need to get off Candelaria, Zambales where the Island is located. Alternate Route: You can take a bus bound to Olongapo City and there'd be a bus bound to Iba, Zambales or a straight Sta Cruz trip. Tips: Prepare a lot of kwento and foods for it will be a veeeery long trip.

From Candelaria, Zambales you can rent a boat. Transpo Fare: around P800 (good for 5pax). It will only take around 10 mins to reach the Island. There'd be an entrance fee of either P100 or P300. Latter rate applies for overnight stay. You can set up your own tent. But if you don't have one, worry nothing as there are lots of available cottages that ranges from P500-P2000 depending on the cottage size. On our case we set up 3 tents and rented a cottage as it was raining. There are available cooking materials, just have to bring your utensils. There are several CRs' available with one faucet working, probably because the island is just small.

What to Do:

Swimming. Camping. Sun Bathing. Recollection and a lot more. Should you want to go here be sure to check the weather ahead of time. You won't fully enjoy the island when raining.
Potipot Island offers white sand and a crystal clear water. Good thing the island care takers are very dedicated in keeping the island beautiful.
On our second day at the Island we felt a little uncomfortable due to heavy rains. We then decided to rent rooms. We originally planned to have spent our 2nd night at the island but the weather didn't permit us. We're able to get 2 rooms for only P3000 at the Harvest Beach Resort. It was relaxing.

Manila Bound:

At around 11am we decided to go home. From Candelaria we rode a bus going to Iba then another bus bound to Manila. We reached Caloocan at around 7:30pm.

Team Chaz

Next Team Building will be at Baler. I have invited them to my hometown.
